Minister of Justice Finally Bows to Senate Threat to Appear Before it Over Forgery Suit

After many days of battling the senate, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Mallami will finally appear before the upper legislative chamber.

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Mallami has bowed to the Senate by accepting to appear before the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters over the Senate Rules forgery suit.
 
Dailytrust reports that Mallami will appear before the committee on Thursday after many days of refusal. He was subsequently re-summoned again by the Senate.
 
It would be recalled that the Senate penultimate Tuesday summoned Mallami over the suit following a motion sponsored by Senator Dino Melaye (APC, Kogi West). Chairman of the committee, Senator David Umaru, in a letter to Mallami, said the meeting would be held Thursday. 
 
President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, outgoing Clerk to the National Assembly, Alhaji Salisu Maikasuwa and the Deputy Clerk, Ben Efeturi are being tried at a Federal High Court in Abuja over the alleged forgery.
