Deadly Boko Haram Militants on Horseback Murder 11 in Yobe

About 11 people have been shot dead and murdered by marauding Boko Haram members on horseback who attacked a village in Yobe State.
 
Deadly Boko Haram militants on horseback attacked Zango village, Gulani local government area of Yobe State killing 11 people, vigilantes and residents said.
 
The sad incident took place on Tuesday night as the attackers slaughtered people while setting their houses ablaze. 
 
“The gunmen came on horses around midnight, set ablaze our houses and opened fire on the people trying to escape. They chased people and opened fire on them,” a vigilante who did not want to be named said, adding that similar attacks took place recently in the neighbouring villages. 
 
“Last two weeks, the militants sacked a cluster of villages around those areas, including Gurum and Dokshi where over 20 people were killed and many injured. The injured are currently receiving treatment at Damaturu Specialist hospital,” he said.
