Confusion has trailed the actual age of Ese Oruru's alleged abductor, Yunusa Dahiru aka Yellow as his father and Lawyer offer differing numbers.

Kayode Olaosebikan, the lawyer of Yunusa Dahiru, the alleged abductor of 14-year-old Ese Rita Oruru, has faulted the claim of Dahiru Bala, the father of Yunusa, that his son (Yunusa) is 25-year old, according to the Vanguard.
The lawyer claimed that his client who was arraigned before a Federal High Court in Yenagoa is 18-years old.
In an earlier interview with national newspapers, including Vanguard, Bala, claimed that Yunusa is 25-years old while Premium Times after an exclusive session with his father reported Yunusa is 22.
“My son is 25, and I found it extremely necessary to stand by him at this moment of his travails despite his failure to accept my advice initially. Yunusa was a house help to Oruru’s family for 10 years and when he told me of his love relationship with Ese, I opposed him because we already had a bride for him in the village. When he called to say that he was on his way home with his love I informed him of the bride we had found for him,” the 55-year-old man said in the interview.
However, during Yunusa’s arraignment on Tuesday, his lawyer claimed that the accused is 18.
“We see the case as that of two love birds. It is case of Yunusa, an 18 year old boy in love with a 14 year old girl. They agreed to elope,” he said.
Yunusa was dragged before a Federal High Court in Bayelsa’s capital, Yenagoa on five count charge.
